We don’t recommend painting laminate like granite because not only is it extremely difficult to achieve a realistic pattern, but you’ll also lose most of the benefits of laminate surfaces in the meantime. If you’re sure you want to try it, you can use a bonding primer, then follow up with a water based paint, and then seal the paint with a food-safe sealant.
Laminate rarely truly stains because the melamine layer is practically impervious to liquids. However, if you find a stubborn spot on your countertops, we recommend trying a mixture of baking soda and water and letting it sit for a few minutes. Gently wipe away with a cloth.
Burn marks may not be completely repairable but can be mitigated. We recommend scrubbing the damaged area cautiously with baking soda to ensure a smooth surface. If the burn is severe, you can fill the area with epoxy.
If you have deep scratches in your countertop, you can use a product like Seamfil to fill in the gaps.
Laminate can be cleaned easily with dish soap and water.
Countertops can be removed and replaced relatively easily by separating the old countertops from the wall, removing the screws that attach them to the cabinets and then replacing them with the new countertops.
